Second production line for PVC joinery installed at CESUR

Cesur has doubled its production area in order to increase production volume, improve quality and optimise delivery efficiency.

Cesur (Cerramiento del Sureste) was founded in the 1980s in modest premises near the centre of Torrevieja. Today, this dynamic company covers approximately 4,000 m² and employs around 40 people.

40 years in the PVC sector: time for change

The year 2019 marked a first major change, both in terms of commercial reorganisation and in the production department, with a significant investment in machinery. The new production line consists of a sawing and machining centre, an automatic sawing line for reinforcements, all automatically linked to a machining and screw centre equipped with a special tool holder for 14 tools.

To complete the automation, an integrated closing plate machine was also opted for. The connection between all these centres is achieved by a three-part transfer and buffer table, allowing each machining centre to operate without downtime or bottlenecks. All this while one operator has sufficient time to load and monitor all machining centres as required.

The production lines are further supplemented with a four-head welding machine with automatic corner polishing and automatic output. All CNC controllers are from the Japanese company FANUC.

"With this new line, we can carry out all operations – from sawing (including variable sawing angles) to milling, drilling and counter-profiling – on just two centres," says production manager José Anton.

"The stations are connected to each other via fully automatic transfer tables, eliminating the need for manual handling. The ease and efficiency with which we can now send complete production batches to a single central machine is a huge step forward. This 'main' machine distributes the operations across the various stations in minimal time, creating an ideal balance between the stations. This ensures perfect balance in the production process and significantly higher efficiency. The professional and comprehensive support provided by the Soenen team ensured that the implementation went smoothly and exceeded our expectations. Soenen Hendrik's 'one-stop-shop' motto meant that we only had to communicate with one partner – a partner who manages all steps of the production process in-house."

"The results were so positive," adds Manuel Perez, CEO of Cesur SA, "both in terms of production time and delivery times, combined with a significant increase in sales, that we decided in 2023 to double our production space and add an identical second production line, expanded with a centre for locking plates. This expansion also proved to be a great success."

"An equally important advantage of working with two virtually identical lines is that we can divide production batches, speed up orders and, in short, offer maximum flexibility in our production capacity. Direct contact with the machine builder ensured extremely short lines of communication. As a customer, this offers nothing but advantages – in every respect."

Direct line to the machine builder without intermediaries

Cesur's exclusive partnership with Soenen is free of intermediaries, which guarantees direct and efficient communication. This means that wishes and requirements are discussed directly with the developer.

The result? Faster decision-making, tailor-made solutions and smooth implementation. No unnecessary delays, just customised solutions that perfectly meet requirements: that is the power of direct collaboration.

Christopher Verriest emphasises: "We develop and manufacture everything in-house at our three production sites, from R&D to thorough testing of the machines with the customer at our site in Izegem. We also create the additional software modules with a team of our own software engineers, so that they are fully tailored to the specific needs of the customer. Our engineers are constantly working on new solutions that push the boundaries of what is technically possible."

Soenen also develops all its own tools. This guarantees optimal results in terms of precision, quality and speed of machining.

Groundbreaking innovations

During discussions with Hendrik Soenen, Cesur was also informed about the numerous groundbreaking innovations that Soenen is currently working on, spread across various types of machines and solutions.

At Soenen, years of experience, constant innovation and ongoing direct contact with customers come together on a daily basis.

The dynamism and continuous developments within the company make it particularly valuable for customers to work with a partner who not only offers a solid foundation of experience and reliability, but also continues to invest in advanced technologies. This ensures that the machines not only function optimally today, but are also prepared for the challenges of the future. Being part of this process as a customer offers the certainty of always being one step ahead and prepared for future market developments and the challenges of tomorrow.

Digital twin and industry 4.0

One of Soenen Hendrik's innovations is the continuous development and implementation of "digital twin" technology.

This Industry 4.0 approach offers unprecedented insight into future production processes, leading to improved performance and efficiency while reducing costs.

Direct support, also via mixed reality

A decisive factor in Cesur SA's choice of Soenen Hendrik was its proximity and high-tech support. "We can always contact the manufacturer directly if we have any questions." Christopher adds: "Cameras and Mixed Reality enable us to look inside the machine together with the customer in no time at all. With our MR technology, our technicians can be virtually present at the customer's site, see exactly what is happening and provide direct assistance as if they were physically there."

Soenen's technical support is hands-on and direct. Through their expertise centre – Soenen's 'base camp' – you get immediate access to a multidisciplinary team of specialists with in-depth knowledge of every step in the production process. Whether you need advice, answers to complex questions or optimisations, the right expertise is at your disposal. Thanks to these short lines of communication and rapid interventions, our production continues to perform optimally and we get the maximum return from every operation.
